Why Going Green Is A Good Choice For All

I am sure you have noticed that people continue to talk about living a green life.

Even the Empire State Building is doing a major sustainability retrofit to become a leading examples of economic and environmental revitalization. Also note that if you are ever in the ESB, be sure to see the Zalman Silber Skyride.

You will find people talking about going green on the radio and TV, you may even here people on the subway talking about going green. This is a huge topic that gets more attention each and every day. Is it important that more people turn to a green lifestyle.

The biggest reason for becoming environmentally friendly is to help save our planet. Emissions from vehicles are destroying the ozone layer and there are vast landfill sites full to the brim with discarded rubbish that cannot disintegrate. If this continues to go unchanged, in time our ozone layer will be depleted allowing dangerous UV rays to penetrate, and our planets temperature will continue to rise due to increased carbon dioxide levels. Because of the constant rise in temperature of the earth, soon all the animals and people will be living in a hostile environment. Our garbage dumps are continuously being packed with more and more trash that is in fact recyclable. Individuals even now throw away tin cans, aluminum as well as paper products, all of which are recyclable, and along with new technologies increasingly more products are becoming recyclable. If we can start to utilize a lesser number of resources by just recycling, we can actually start to make a difference by decreasing pollution

Living green could also help our wildlife that are being directly impacted by our pollution. Right now we cut down a lot of trees in wild rain forest’s, which are home to a variety of endangered species. And when we kill off more and more species they are gone for good. Because our recycling has evolved so much, we don’t have to continue to deplete the tree’s, and a few companies are actually planting 2 trees for each one they take. However it can take an extremely long amount of time for these saplings to mature, it is almost a day late dollar short kind of thing, but at least people are making an effort. Of course if more people would begin to recycle there paper products, less trees would need to be taken to begin with.

Another thing people can do is to start using more organic products. Organic products are much better for our health and our planet. People can start living green by eating more organic foods. Non-organic crops are sprayed with pesticides and insecticides, and chemical fertilizer is added to the soil to increase yield and profit for the farmers. All of these added chemicals aren’t good for us and could cause illness, so its best to stay away from them. The alternative is organic foods, which have nothing added to them, meaning they’re totally natural. There’s a higher price to pay for organic and natural foods, but undoubtedly its a cost really worth paying if your overall health is held in the balance?

Going for a Eco-friendly lifestyle is one thing that I really feel everyone in the world ought to be doing, not only for our overall health but also in order to help decrease the destruction of our ozone layer as well as air pollution. It doesn’t matter if you’re able to only carry out tiny elements, for example walking rather than driving, it all will help.
